About Sussex designs
The website
This site has been designed from an accessibility standpoint. It conforms to the World wide web consortium's (W3C) XHTML 1.0 standards and also with the guidelines laid down by the web accessibility initiative (WAI). These guidelines help to ensure that the internet is useable by anyone regardless of platform, connection or ability.
Accessibility is not only good business sense, it is also a legal issue, in 2004 the disability rights commission tested 1,000 websites for compliance with the Disability Discrimination Act. Over 80% failed to meet the minimum guidelines!
Good design is not simply about putting nice pictures on a site, or creating impressive animations. A good design must work for all users, allowing them to access the information they want from the website with the minimum of fuss.
