A guide to the various types of website I can build together with an idea of price.

Single page special - £175

A one page site promoting a business/service. This price includes the site design, one years hosting, domain name registration, search engine submission and email address setup.

Brochure site - £350

Custom designed site aimed at small business promotion. These sites are generally around 4-6 pages and include an introductory homepage, a few pages of information, contact details page and a links page.

E-commerce site - £600

A wide range of e-commerce sites are available. I will help you choose the features that are right for you. For a relatively small business a site that integrates with paypal to allow online purchases may be ideal. For larger business ventures you may want your own on-site shopping cart, with secure socket layer (SSL) technology in order to take customers credit card details safely.

Community site - £500

A community site can consist of many different features. Forums, chatrooms, galleries, blogs, newsfeeds are all popular ways to bring repeat visitors to a website.

Redesigns

If you already have a site and you think it needs a bit of an update then get in touch and I will come up with some ideas for improving it. Site redesigns cost approximately half of the total cost of creating a website.

Content management system - from £200

I can create custom CMS's to enable you to update text, pictures and links on your site as and when you like. These consist of a mysql database and a secure admin section to your website. The website itself is generated from the database, which in turn can be edited via the admin section.

Search engine optimisation - from £50 per month

SEO is crucial in getting more visitors, and more importantly relevant visitors to your site. The number one method potential customers use to find websites is search engines such as google, yahoo, msn. If you are well ranked for useful phrases relevant to your business then potential customers will have no problems in finding you.

Site Hosting - from £50 per year

Affordable website hosting. This includes maintenance of your site and occasional updates of things like contact details, prices etc.

Domain name registration

I offer free .co.uk domain name registration with any of my design packages.

Please note the prices above are a guide only, except for the single page special which is a fixed price.

Design tip

Choose your colours wisely! Too many different colours is very distracting to the user, try lighter or darker shades of one colour and make sure you choose clear contrasting colours for text and background so that reading does not become a problem.
